UC Davis or UC San Diego Engineering

I have recently been accepted to these two schools, and I have a few questions. I have been accepted to UC San Diego under the structural engineering major? I was wondering how "constricted" my options would be if that were my major instead of civil engineering. Over at Davis I have been accepted under aerospace engineering, but if I were to go there I might see if I can switch to civil engineering. I was wondering would it be better to major in structural engineering or civil engineering? Also, if civil engineering is better, would the UC San Diego name make the structural engineering better than the Davis civil engineering? Finally, should I just stick to aerospace engineering, or would civil be a better option for me to go into?

Any feedback would be helpful, please reply!

What are you interested in? If you are interested in wastewater treatment or hydrology, then yes, structural engineering would “constrict” you. Only you know the answer as to what you want to do. UCSD structural engineering is top notch, and would lead to a lucrative career where you could work designing skyscrapers, earthquake proof buildings and retrofits. Aerospace engineering is an interesting field also, but more prone to the ups and downs of commercial and military markets.

Good luck to you in making your decision.
