I'm currently filling out my Student Housing application, and nowhere do I see a questionnaire for a future roommate. How can I complete one?

UC Davis does not do roommate questionnaires. All you’re asked for is to rank the residence areas in the order that you prefer to live in, whether you want a single, a double, or a triple, and whether you want to live in a themed community. Your roommate is selected randomly unless you have a specific person in mind who you want to room with. Once you’re settled in, your RA will sit you down with your roommate and discuss roommate agreements (such as how clean the room should be, if overnight guests are allowed over, who is responsible for vacuuming/cleaning the window, etc) with both of you (or the 3 of you if you end up in a triple). As a note, smoking is not allowed anywhere in the dorms, let alone 20-25 ft near them, so if you’re a nonsmoker, you won’t have to worry about getting a roommate who smokes, since they won’t be able to light up in the room.

Thank you for the info! I guess I’ll just have to adapt to living with a complete stranger.

There’s a UC Davis Class of 2017 Roommate Page on Facebook, where people fill out surveys and respond to others.

It should be noted that teeney’s suggestion is user-run, though. The surveys are not made by Student Housing themselves, otherwise they would be on the official housing application (but they’re not).
