UC Davis Scholarships

If the Financial Aid Package page does not mention any scholarships does that mean I didn’t receive any scholarships from UC Davis?

I was wondering that too. Uncle Same didn't give me anything and the Financial office said they couldn't hook me up with anything... They offered me loans instead...BlAAH

I didnt get anything at all for FinAid.

On the Davis website it states the scholarship winners will be notifed as early as April 1 for some scholarships and as late as like July or June.

I did pick a Cal Aggie Scholarship, a full AFROTC scholarship, and maybe some small other ones.

I got UCD Regents. $7500/year for 2 years (I am transfer) + some other benefits and possibility of more grants. Havent accepted the admission offer yet.

Regents Scholarships are announced early - so that invitees can keep that in mind when choosing which college to accept, but many of the other scholarship announcements are much later.

Regents scholars recieve $7500/year scholarship PLUS grants up to the full cost of attendance, depending on need. Full need is covered, and even the "student's contribution" is waived.

UCD has the best Regents Scholar plan of all the UCs. (It is even more valuable for Freshman, who can choose to live in the new honors dorm, and take care of GEs in small, seminar style courses with other scholars).

Other perks are great, too. Priority registration is invaluable- you will get the courses you want at the times you want.

You can check your scholarships through SISWEB, through "Student Services & Financial Aid" there should be a link that says "View My Aid Package and Accept my Awards Online." If nothing is listed there, then you currently don't have any scholarships. However, in October the applications for continuing scholarships will be available, and you should definitely apply. You will need a recommendation letter. Freshmen and transfer students are allowed to use a recommendation letter from faculty members at their former high school or college. After your first year, however, it must be from a UCD faculty member, so start making friends early. A lot of people don't bother applying for continuing scholarships, so you have more of a chance of getting one than your entering year, when everyone is considered for the awards.
