hey everybody heres the deal. I applied with the TAG to Davis and recorded all my grades including an F that I received fall semester 2009. I was thinking about recording that F as academic renewal on my application because I would have been apporved for it by the time I sent in my official transcripts in winter (I have already been approved just happened on Monday). With the F i did not meet the required 2.9 gpa but now that I have academic renewal I meet the requirment. my counselor contacgted davis yesterday and they said that they cannot reconsider my TAG. This is unfair considering some people lied on their app knowing they would get AR later and I was honest and now I'm being penalized. Any ideas on what I should do

Yes, try hard, get that F to an A and you’ll get in UC Davis.

that class I got an F in is no longer needed for my major (it was a physics class and im am now an econ major). that F is now academic renewal meaning that the F is gone.

You might not be TAG eligible but you will be eligible for general aplications. I couldn’t TAG with Irvine because I hadn’t completed a math class. I was heartbroken because I really wanted to move down there and experience a new life in SoCal. I applied without TAG and got in without any problem. Got accepted to UCD and UCB as well It’s not the end of the world to be rejected for a TAG. Just work hard, get good grades and apply. You’ll do fine. Incidentally, I chose Davis and I really like it here :)

When did u get the tag decision? Did they email you or did the the status in the tag website change?

Fortunately hope isn’t lost - you can still apply without the TAG. I would encourage you to do so, even though I know it’s frustrating. But on the bright side, you still have a chance. :)
