UC Davis TAG HELP NEEDED

Hi, So in Fall 2015 I had applied for tag saying that I would take the following course and following planned courses for Winter and Spring 2016. So then before it came time to submit my actual UC App on Nov 30th, I had to drop a class which affected my schedule quite a bit for Winter AND Spring session. So I put that in my UC App basically. My Winter session changed from 1 class to one useless class and 1 general ed class (2 classes)… Note, the changes did not affect my TAG requirements or just generally any requirements I need to transfer. So winter session came around and due to my schedule, I decided not to take that useless class and decided to stick with 1 general ed class. (Basically this is another change from my UC App). So now it is January and I have the UC App update deadline coming up. So my schedule now is a little bit changed up in terms of classes. But all my classes are either same or equivalent to the classes I had put down initially for the TAG… I will still have the UC Tag and UC Transfer requirements met by the end of Spring quarter. So my question is, will this affect my TAG? I understand officially my TAG may be “voided” but many people tell me that in this case it is fine and they won’t mind it. Because if you think about it, nothing really changed in terms of my requirements to getting into the UC. My GPA is the same… My GE requirements are staying pretty much the same… I will have at least 60 units by end of Spring… Does anyone have any incite to this? Will UC Davis still consider my TAG? I wanted to know if anyone has experienced this and what happen. Thanks!!!

The changes won’t affect your TAG. The only thing that will void your TAG is if your GPA dips below 3.2 (or 3.2 depending on your major) or if you receive D’s or F’s in your Fall grades. Make sure the changes in your schedule are reflected in your TAU, you can even leave a note explaining that your Spring schedule is different than you had initially projected when submitting your TAG, if you want.

I would be leery about accepted promises from these many people. They don’t work in Davis admissions. Neither do I for that matter.

I assume you have already looked online at the Davis FAQ. Which says in part

I suggest you follow the update steps they give in the FAQ. I hope it is like you have been told, they will see that overall you’re doing about the same thing and keep your TAG in force. But I don’t know that for sure, and I suspect the many people don’t either.

Anyone looking into this thread for help, I can confirm that UC Davis doesn’t care if you switch around classes as long as you meet your TAG requirements and the 60 unit mark. I switched my classes around quite a bit and it didn’t effect me.
