@coolskeleton95 aw don’t be scared! I feel the same way though. After being waitlisted to two schools already, I have been feeling somewhat less hopeful but I am still going to have hope!
if it’s okay to ask and you don’t mind sharing, what is your major and GPA? Mine is Psychology and I am in the 3.2-3.3 GPA range… not too competitive and Psychology is a selective major in Davis
We got this!
@Christinesoh Your GPA is much better than mine! I only have a 2.79 but my major is Linguistics and I’d like to think that literally nobody applies for that major. I have a tiny upward grade trend from 2.4 to 2.79 (2.87 after winter quarter), decent ECs and work, am 1st gen and feel mildly confident in my essays so I really hope they give me a chance. 0-:
@coolskeleton95 the decisions are really random so don’t lose hope! I heard some majors were able to accept people under 3.0 so don’t worry! UC’s look at you as a whole so your Personal Insights and EC’s all factor into it!
Awe thank you for your positivity! but my GPA is not competitive enough for my major so it’s still low compared to others but GPA isn’t the only part they look at so let’s be positive!
I really hope you get in! Let me know how the results are and I’ll be sure to post it on here too whether its rejection or acceptance! (:
@christinesoh Thanks girl!!! I truly hope the best for both of us! Thanks for the kind words as well :3 I hope Davis is the one to allow me a chance at academic redemption!! I’m excited to hear back but still so nervous hehe.
How does one go about finding roommates/housing once one gets accepted? Just wondering.
@OhWhatsHerName or you guys can live somewhere in the middle together
@waiting4answer I believe after you SIR then you can get into your housing portal. They use Room
Sync to find roommates or if you have someone you want to live with you can both request each other. You won’t know right away though. I think they tell you in August where you’ll be living
Also for anybody else that ever needs any recommendations of the area on where to live/rent in surrounding neighborhoods let me know and i can give some ideas. I live in this area so i’m a local resident if you guys have any questions. Also I Uber once in a while and love Ubering in Davis.
@HERKFOOT21, can you list some recommendations of which areas are best to rent? I’m looking for an area that is safe and is close to UCD. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
What’s up guys! Here’s my stats.
Major: Managerial Econ
Transferable GPA: 2.83 (I know, its pretty low ): )
IGETC: Need 2 but my GE reqs are completed.
Pre-Reqs: All done by the end of Spring.
Units Completed: 64 after Spring.
Man Econ had an 80% admit rate last year but I’m still super nervous because of my GPA too, but you’ll never know unless you try right? Good luck to everyone that applied and no matter where you end up, I’m sure you guys will all be successful!
Basically anywhere as far as I know in Davis is pretty decent. It can be pricey but it’s all pretty much the same. Just depends on what’s available. The next town over west of Davis which is dixon is also a good town pretty much everywhere. And my town north of Davis which is woodland is nice but has some areas I’d stay away from
My CS TAG was approved in November and is pending on
CS 50 with a grade of B or above
CS 60 with a grade of A or above.
Assume I get accepted into Davis sometime this month.
I was accepted by an other UC and is pending on
CS 50 with a grade of C or above
CS 60 with a grade of C or above
Can I make a deposit to both schools because I like Davis slightly more due to location and I won’t find out my grades until end of June? I do not mind losing one deposit to secure both schools.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
@AgainstTheOdds Hey! I applied with a 2.79 (now 2.87 after winter quarter) so I know how you feel! My major (Linguistics) had a 77% admit last year so we’re quite literally in the same boat. I’m prayin hard for ya!
Guys im in the saame boat. My major is soc i have a low gpa around 2.9 my top choice is davis but i got acceptedd to ucsc. Good luck to us all. They needa hurry up.
@letmein123 Yep, I’m the exact same. Got into UCSC just yesterday but Davis is my top choice. Will you go to UCSC in the off chance that you don’t in? Praying hard for you too, I’m sure you have a chance!
@coolskeleton95 @letmein123 I’m about the same gpa as you guys have you been accepted anywhere yet ? Denied ? Where did you guys apply
@AgainstTheOdds Hey im in the same boat as you guys too. I have a GPA above 3.0, but only by a few tenths. I hope we all get in
@RaymondAlvaradoH
Applied: SJSU, CPSLO, UCSC, UCD (UCB & UCLA cus waivers ftw)
Accepted: SJSU, UCSC
Denied: CPSLO
Pending: UCD (UCB & UCLA)
Thank you @coolskeleton95 . Same i just got admitted yesterday to ucsc but if i dont get in davis im going to ucsc and a lot of people have been telling me ill like it and enjoy there but my only concern is housing i just hope they offer me something till i get situated and familiar with the campus and all. Praying for u 2 hopefully it all goes good for us all. Btw ive been hearing that housing is tight at ucsc 2. I mean its tight at all campuses for transfers.
Hey I’m going to UCSC if not Davis too!! We’re in this together guys.
@letmein123 I know UCSC has a year of guaranteed transfer housing so you should be good there. Not sure about Davis though
