UC Davis Transfer Fall 2018--Discussion Post

Hey guys do u know till when we have time to make a decision for uc?

@letmein123 6/1, iirc

@AgainstTheOdds 98 applied last year, 76 accepted, only 9 (??) enrolled LOL

UCSC is June 1, I think it is probably the same for all of them but I would check individually to be sure

@coolskeleton95 a rep from uc davis came to my comm college and i asked her if i have a low gpa like 2.8 will i have any chance of getting in and she said if ur major isnt that impacted theres a high chance as long as you did the pre reqs . THERES HOPE.

@letmein123 BLESSED. Brb sticking the UC Davis sticker I got in my first quarter of college on my forehead till admissions results are released

@letmein123 @Fmcgillivray yeah 6/1 for all UCs!!!

I have a 2.93 at community college with above 3.0 my last 6 semesters my first two i had a 2.4 and 2.6. Rejected by UCSB I’m hoping I get into San Diego or Davis but Santa Cruz is my safety school. Do you guys know what the gpa requirement is for San Diego sociology?

@RaymondAlvaradoH https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major this is the table for transfer majors for every UC and their major. I have a 2.98 and waitlisted at UCSB. Haven’t gotten into any other school yet

Idk why im leaning towards ucsc . Its going to be hard to decide IF i get in davis. Ive literally studied so hard just to get into ucd but here im looking into ucsc. I think we will either find out on the 20th or 21 st.either ways good luck everyone :)>-

@letmein123 yeah same here it’ll be a real tough call. I’m soc at Davis but SC’s community studies is really unique and appealing…

@siarota are you a sociology major as well ? I wish that tool had the lowest and highest gpa range because I want to know if I have a chance :confused: I really hope I get into San Diego but I know my chances are slim I was accepted to Santa Cruz yesterday. Where else did you apply ?

April 20

wow didn’t mean to post that lol just ignore XD

This is a dumb question but, I just realized I made the Dean’s List for my Fall 2017 quarter (and Winter 2018 quarter but that’s after TAU) after a crappy first two and a half quarters of college. It’s what pulled my gpa from 2.4 (from having straight Cs) to a 2.79 (3 As and a B+). I didn’t mention this in my application though because I thought the Dean’s List only applies to cumulative gpa lol. When Davis views my application will they know that I made the Dean’s List for Fall 2017? Or will it be over looked because I didn’t mention it in my essays or academic awards? Personally it’s a pretty fat achievement for me from how I started college so I’m gonna be QQ af if it doesn’t get factored into my app.

@RaymondAlvaradoH I applied UCSB as Biopsychology major, UCD, UCSC and UCSD as neuroscience major, and selected non capped bio department majors as my alt major. UCSC is my safety as well, but I haven not heard anything back from them yet, it kinda makes me nervous, as if I won’t get in consider how crappy my GPA is.

@siarota someone (ohm88?) said a few months ago that UCSC accepts 100% of applicants as long as they have a 2.4 (I think?) and filled their prereqs.

@siarota is it true that you need a 3.0 for all UCSD majors that’s what their official website says

@siarota our gpa’s are about the same and our majors have similar gpa ranges. We also applied to the same schools. I really hope you get into all of them if I were you I wouldn’t stress too much about UCSC. I received my acceptance yesterday yours should come very soon. Im being optimistic about San Diego but realistically I think Davis will accept me. I’m planning on possibly appealing UCSB

@OhWhatsHerName according to the transfers by majors unless A LOT of people don’t meet the 2.4 requirement then I don’t think that’s accurate. The acceptance rates are nowhere near 100%
