I have 60 units, but no TAG done. Not attending classes for this semester (fall 08). I was wondering if I overload myself next sem at a CC and pass them all with really high grades, if that would help me get in? if not, then I want to get a job and just take regular full load 13ish units, not hella full load 18ish. Oh and yeah my gpa sucks cause I didn’t care at first, but now i’m trying to fix it.

They make the decisions before spring grades come out so I dont think that would help much. How bad does your gpa suck if you don't mind me asking...

i'ts like at 2.5 hhaha. but it's cause i failed classes liek in auto that aren't even transferable... =

They only look at your transferrable gpa so you might not be in as bad as shape as you think

I have another question... I can't find good classes in community college... would it affect my applicaiton if I went to a CSU the spring before a UC?

Backround: I've attended a CSU, but went back to CC to transfer to a UC, but i can't find classes currently that work, if i went to a CSU would they transfer units from CSU to a UC?? and would they be not so inclined to accept me into a UC since the last semester iv'e attended was at a CSU?

Some CSU classes do transfer to UC, mostly GE's and maybe some UD. They transfer CSU to UC courses based from Assist and other ways like a class syllabus.

But, transferring from a CSU gives you last priority, so the maximize your chance, you should stick with a cc.

You should also watch your unit count; this can be difficult since you may not know how many UC transferable units you have from the CSU. For UC Davis you should try your best to have less than 80 semester transferable units:
CC transferable Units(max 70) + CSU transferable Units < 80
It is more difficult to be admitted if you have 80 or more total transferable units; remember there is a maximum of 70 semester units that will be transfered from two year colleges so only attending a CCC a student will not hit this limitation. Also, other UC campuses may have different limitations.

Hey guys i'm back, i'm at a CC right now. I really want to go to UCD either for undergrad or grad. Would the best way be CSUS then UCD for grad? or just try and get in UCD for undergrad? I'm trying to graduate asap casue I wasted time, so if i stay at cc then it might take me a little longer casue there are prereqs required for classes i need, but at CSU they dont 'have prereqs... =

Just another question... Do bio majors have mainly lab classes?

pdrum,
If you prefer to complete your undergraduate degree sooner, rather than later, it seems best for you to re-admit into the CSU your undergraduate degree was started at. You can always contact of office of graduate studies, UC Davis: Office of Graduate Studies , for information on our graduate level programs.
