UC Davis vs Penn State

If you have to choose one for your undergraduate between these two, which one would be your choice? whether in-state or out-state stdents. Thanks a lot.

Penn State!

2 Party School (According to Princeton Review...not really a good source)

Great football!
It's huge...too many students

It totally depends on the student, if you just wanna study go to Davis. If you wanna party and go to football games...Penn State

I'd choose Penn State personally.

Lol, both schools have football and parties. Davis is a more academic school though. What do you want to major in? Where do you live? Are you OOS for Davis? You should visit both schools (stay with a friend) and see what you think dude. The weather is definately colder in Pennsylvania during the winter, but the east coast is cool. I personally love it at UCD.

I love UC Davis. I got accepted to Michigan and a different Big 10 school similar to Penn State - as well as USC - and I will never have any regrets about becoming an Aggie! The college town, awesome atmosphere, school pride, the list doesn't end. There is no where I'd rather spend my time as an undergrad then right here at UC Davis.

If I chose where I wanted to go to college solely based on the football team there would be no reason why I declined USC last year having the #1 team in the nation(at the time of application :p).

Check Davis out and find out why, there are plenty of info threads around :). Id be happy to answer specific questions as well..

Penn state is better iff you're from PA.

UCD and PA are pretty much no the same level

Davis. I don't stray away very much from UCs/CSUs, since I'm a Cal resident. In addition, Davis has a super prevet program, which is definitely a plus for me.

I don't know why, but big-name schools don't really appeal to me very much. Davis is pretty homey and nice, and I'm kind of familiar with the campus since I visit it a lot.

I dont attend either school, but I would easily pick UCD over Penn State, unless you plan on staying in the Penn State area afterwards and football is very important to you.

UCD is a much better choice. A good mix of academics and social.

If you are Engineering major, I will pick Pennstate. US news ranking in Engineering - Pennstate #14 vs UCD #34.

hmm, well i went to visit CMU a while ago and there was another university really close by- i think it was penn state, but i'm not sure (and if it isn't then ignore my entire comment lol)
anyways i didn't really love cmu's environment outside of campus- Penn state seemed to have a lot of smokers and the area was kinda run down/old =/
i dunno i'd pick UCDavis even though i've never visited

Go for Davis dude!!

Although I have to admit I am highly biased. :D

kiwieux, you were probably at Univ. of Pitttsburg, not Penn State

yea....you're right lol >< my bad
