Accepted in Santa Barbara, but waitlisted at Davis. Just wondering - is it worth the wait list for my major (electrical engineering)?

After noticing the large amount of waitlistees, is Davis planning to accept many of them?

@PlanetWave,
UCSB has a much better engineering school than UCD does. In fact, UCSB’s engineering school is ranked as being equal to the engineering school’s of Harvard and Princeton. So yeah, definitely go with UCSB.

Nothing to lose - just wait until last week of April, visit UCSB first. Both schools are rated the same for EE. Probably better internship opportunities at Davis since it is close to the valley. I have the same issue have to choose between Davis and SB for EE, but atleast you don’t have to worry about Davis till you hear from them again.

Hm, okay.

@nandotko, that link is for Graduate schools, but regardless, I’ll take that into consideration.

Is there any benefit of submitting my SIR early? Or do I still have time to think?

Dunno, but it’s a list right? Like a line?
if so then yeah you ‘wana be first in line’ if not, then just think about it until the last few days before it’s due

Don’t bother with waiting. Go to UCSB. That’s an easy decision in my opinion.
