Which is the better school to go to for a major in computer engineering?
I will be using a bicycle/busing for transportation, which school is better for that?
Which school will provide a better overall experience?
I plan to party in moderation.
Could I get some pros and cons of each school?

I absolutely loved UCSB's campus. I thought it had the best atmosphere.
I have visited most of the UC's, and have gotten into both of these due to my ELC status.

There are going to be fewer distractions at UCD. Also, it is closer to silicon valley, so that is a possible bonus in terms of computer engineering and recruitment. UCSB is more exciting, of course. I don’t know specifics about their departments, but I can’t imagine it would make much difference academically. You have to choose on where you think you’d be happiest and you have to figure out whether you can stand the substantial distractions of UCSB.

Davis = Bike Town, USA. Bike paths and riders are everywhere. There are literally more bicycles in Davis than people. Good bus service too.

Academically, both schools are about the same - both excellent. I’m not sure which is stronger for computer engineering.

Davis has more professional schools and the resources those bring to campus - medical school, law school, business school, veterinary school. Both schools have good Ph.D. programs. Davis also has college football and Division I sports. Santa Barbara has better weather - both in the summer and in the winter.

Go to Davis if you like to ski. Go to SB if you prefer to surf.
