I'm from Ohio and these are both out of state schools. Disregarding financial aid, which school do you find more appealing? I'm having the hardest time picking which one to commit to because I love both colleges. I'm going to be following the pre-med route and will be applying to medical school after undergrad. If you ever visited, how are the people? Let me know your opinions on both schools and out of the two, which one would offer a more fulfilling college experience?

Also if you are already apart of the 2018 class for either of these schools- let me know why you picked it!

Here is a useful website for UW-Madison students interested in healthcare-related careers (I’m not sure if the SOAR advisors provide this info/link to incoming students):

You will get a good education at both universities as they are both very good academically, but as a flagship institution, I find Wisconsin to be a more complete university. Wisconsin is older, has been considered an academic powerhouse for over a century, is very strong in pre-med majors such as Biology, Biochem and Chemistry, and has a nice and spirited campus. I also prefer Madison to Davis. Of course, Wisconsin is a little cheaper too, which makes it more appealing.

Academically I’d say it’s a wash. For what it’s worth, US News has UC Davis ranked slightly higher than Wisconsin.

To me this would boil down to which campus you prefer. I personally don’t like UC Davis campus that much, but I know lots of people who graduated from there, and they all loved the place.

Pre-meds may also want to consider net price; if one has a lower net price, then the savings can be applied to the expensive medical school costs, if one gets admitted (only about half of those who apply to MD medical schools in the US get into any of them).
