So i just found out Ive been put on the waitlist for UC Davis. Pretty bummed out but at least its not a flat out rejection. I was hoping someone could give me the stats of previous acceptance rates from the waitlist for UCD. Thanks

Yes it’s strange, I had a friend last year get in to Berkeley but rejected from Davis. I just hope I get into Santa Barabra

I’ve been waitlisted too and I don’t know what’s going on. My friend with lower test scores and barely any ECs managed to get in but it might’ve been because he applied to their food science program.
Looks like last year a lot of science majors with high stats were wait listed. I applied for Design and got wait listed, but that’s ok I wasn’t so sure about their design program anyways. I actually wanted to do Media/Design Communications. But yea, they ended up accepting a fair number of wait listers I’m p sure.

This is dependent on how many will SIR by May 1.

So if I decide to agree to be on waitlist, there is a chance of getting into the school?
@LittleCatSwagg: Your chances of getting in off the waitlist will be dependent upon how many admitted students actually enroll and how many spots will be available. Each year the numbers can change as shown in the above data Post #6. If I am able to find out the 2016 Waitlist data, I will also post.
I remember reading somewhere about Tufts syndrome? Where an academic institution rejects/waitlists someone on the grounds that the applicant was highly qualified and the counselors felt like they’d be accepted into a more prestigious school.

My mom knew UCLA Admission officers who told her the same thing. Admissions are crazy, man.

I was waitlisted and I immediately accepted. When I submitted my fall grades and my 200 words about why I wanted to attend, I hit submit. It told me I would be notified by May 1st… I reread that because I wanted to be sure …
I wonder if Davis does their waitlist like this to weed out who really wants to attend?
Anyway, I accepted to he on the waitlist immediately.
My plan is to make a final decision by late April …
I have been accepted to SLO but my preference is UCD … also depends on financial package offer also
@TadCooper98 I submitted my statement and grades yesterday as well. I understand it’s non-binding now. I hope they do mean that they will give us a decision before May 1st because I believe I read on the UC website that acceptance would be between May 1 and June 1. Lets cross our fingers that its the first option! Good Luck, I hope you get in! 
I was accepted from the waitlist last year.
They give you one week to submit your SIR. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a decision made by May 1st though. The releases come in waves (mostly by major), and last year some didn’t get accepted from the waitlist until late June.
It’s going to be really tough for some of you guys if UCD is your first choice. I’m wishing you all luck!
Oh my word! As I read all other comments, I cannot believe that some of you guys got rejected or on the waitlist for UCD… I think I am really lucky because I have 3.57 GPA for unweighted (took 2 APs, no honor classes) and 23 on ACT with writing (8 for writing). I really don’t understand why I got accepted tho…
My daughter was accepted to UCD on 3/10/17 and waitlisted for UCSD. But her 1st choice is UCI. When did u get UCI acceptance?

@ifeanacho: I got the waitlist stats off Ms. Sun’s UC website. She had waitlist info posted for all UC’s in 2014 and 2015. No data for 2016.
Waitlist admits vary each year based on the #of applicants that SIR by May1. Some years there are more SIR’s and some year’s less SIR’s.
