<p>When I applied 5 years ago, UCDavis was #42 in the USNews rankings. They are now #49, despite increasing their selectivity. Anyone know the reasons for this?</p>

<p>This was in the local news. Some clerical error misrepresented data to the USNews...and it has had severe reprecutions on the rankings.. I think it had to do with prof to student ratios...but I could be wrong about the specifics. Try posting on the UC Davis thread...It is a great school, with a new college of Biology and of course as everyone within a sixty mile radius will tell you they are now a D-1 team and they beat Stanford this year!</p>
