UC davis?

so i am a senior this year. i have about a 3.0-3.1, my junior year i got mostly b's but one c in physics. and my freshman and sophomore year i got both b's and c's. and for my SAT i got a 1370. but i am going to take it again and hopefully get a 1600 or higher. i know some alumni and a teacher there but i don't know how much that would help my chances. i think i am good on my recommendations and my essay but i dont know how much that will help with my grades being just ok. additionally, for my extracurriculars i dont have many, swim team sophomore year and a breast cancer awareness club also. but i do have job experience if that could also help.

do i have a chance to get in?

All I can say is that I had a friend apply their for a physics major and he got waitlisted (and then rejected) with a 3.3 uw GPA and a ~3.9 w GPAalong with a 1740 SAT and lots of EC’s (sports mostly)

First of all, UC’s dont care about recommendations at all, they ignore them. Davis is getting competitive to get into. I know someone who got rejected with a 2200 SAT/3.6UW/Excellent EC’s/awards. Hate to break it to you, but your chances are slim…especially with ur SAT score and barely passing the minimum requirement GPA. Good luck though.

thank you, i was just wondering if i had a chance. worth a shot to ask…
