1750 sat score (yea low =[ )
690 math 2c
690 bio
major: electrical engineering
EC: i have tennis but no clubs. i have a lot of jobs though.
essays: they were truly me and all me. I am very proud of them. however, they aren't outstanding and original.

i am in a special program where i attend a community college and high school on a community college campus. i'm pretty confused and frustrated right now... I guess i deserved it with my stats.

jas0n: you should have gotten in. crazy...

accepted
4.0 UC GPA
Non-ELC
1840 SAT (32 on ACT, but didn't bother sending it to Davis...)
800/800 SAT II's

I see no reason why jas0n got rejected... are you oos?

Accepted
3.55 uw 3.75w

Major: Biological Sciences

Decision:Accepted
Stats: probably lowest stats ever
SAT:1800
SAT IIs:620/610
GPA: 3.489 weighted (my CSU gpa somehow calculated to only a 3.0)
Essays: Very good, avoided talking about how i'm asian/stereotypical oppression or hardships of being one. Open essay= I went all out in just 200 words, i talked about my frustrations with life and overcoming it, kinda dissed my parents and stressed how I had bad grades but i knew what was going on in life more than someone with a whole GPA point higher (big gamble o_0).
Location/Person: Bay Area but in the Suburbs
State or Country:CA
School Type: public, small
Ethnicity: Vietnamese American
Gender: Female

Strenght- lots of Leadership positions, attended Camp RYLA (rotary youth leadership award), dedicated to clubs, sports, black belt in taekwondo, won lots of sparring competitions (main essay was about my struggle against my second encounter with the only girl to ever defeat me in a official match), Varsity Track Co-Captain, Only girl on wrestling team Freshman year, Lots of Community Services, good work experiences

Weakness: Low GPA, got more C's than i should have in AP classes( honestly, i think i got at least 6 C's). I really stink in math, and do really well in English classes. But ironically, I did way better in the math portion on the SATs

Hey, I went to RYLA! I lost my password so I don't know if I'm in. But I don't really want to go anyway. Although it might ease the LA rejection. -_-

sarahjhansen, with those stats especially a near perfect UC GPA, u seem candidate for UCB too

And a question, why are there so many UC threads here... Isnt there a UC forum?

FilmmakerJack, good luck with the password recovery. I forgot mine too and had to answer many personal questions like "who was your first crush" and i was like ah, i had like 5!

Which district are you from for RYLA? I'm from 5170 for '05. I bet ryla put me over the edge with my low stats.

it seems like noone has really been rejected but me. all my friends and best friends got in. i'm still baffled about my situation. anyway, i "wish you [all] success in your educational endeavors" (UC Davis Admissions rejection post T_T). I actually wanted to go to Davis with my friends too...

Haha you know what. I didn't even bother looking for the questions. To be honest, it took me an hour or so to remember my LoginID. Awesome to hear you got in though! Mos def, I'm 5170 too. I wish I had thought to put it on my app, it might have put me over the edge for LA. Maybe we'll see each other some time at Rotary event. That would be tight. We could say nice things about all the colleges we got into and bash all the ones that rejected us.

Jason, you should see how the appeal process is. Davis is one of those schools you don't attend unless you really want to. I'm not saying Davis is a bad school, but so far everyone I know who goes there went because of their friends. haha. But yeah check it out, yuo might still be able to go.

Hey Jason don't get discouraged. I think I got rejected for Irvine, my dream school, because i haven't heard from it yet. My Best friend got in the first day with a slightly higher GPA, but lower SATs, ok EC's and a typical essay. Your Stats are very very high, but like with the UCLA acceptances/rejections, the admissions decisions have been somewhat unusual.

Goodluck though! And don't go to a school just because your friend is going there or it's highly rank. You'll making tons of new friends in college anyways. Look into other school and see if you like it for what it has to offer for YOU. I'm still keeping Merced an option myself over Davis because it has an awesome major for me. :]

P.S. Flimmaker Jack, where you at the Interact Cruise?

I Got In !!!!

yay I got in!!!! lolz finally some good news after my ucla rejection

what is this UC GPA?

The UC's give you only 8 extra points for 10th and 11th grade a-g grades. Which is basically 4 ap's (8 semesters). I took 6 ap's 10/11th, which brought my UC gpa down. My overall gpa is alot higher.

OMG were we supposed to calculate the UC GPA by ourselves? i don't remember doing that

um, i had just regular classes, but got a 4.0, so i just put that haha

Accepted
