Ehh... I checked the Cal Grant status website and tried to make an account to check the status of my Cal Grant and it said no SSN or name on file. Damn it. I'll have to call my financial aid advisor tomorrow. So screwed.

I asked the Financial Aid office today if my Cal Grant was automatically submitted and they said that it was. I go to SMC by the way.

I went to ask at my CCC and they weren't be very helpful because I wasn't understand it in the manner the girl was trying to explain it to me. All I know so far is that community colleges (at least the ones I go to) wait until spring semester is over to send it in the GPA verification (sometime in July). I called 1-888-CA-GRANT and they told me since I already have a Cal Grant, I don't need to submit anything.

I am thoroughly confused as to how often and when you submit the GPA verification form (for transfer students at least) because I've never been told that I needed to do it before and I don't know if the process will change once I get to a UC. Bleh. I'm especially worried that I won't get my Cal Grant once I'm at a UC. Though from what I've heard from all the people I've asked, I shouldn't do anything at all, which makes me worry even more.

I would trust them more than anyone. Don't worry about it. :)

I agree with you. I still don't understand the whole process. I wouldn't rely on other people's opinions strictly because they most likely do not have all of the facts. In fact, they might not know anything at all. As long as you talked to someone who deals with the Cal Grants (in which you did) and they said that you had already have one then I don't see the need to worry.

I just got back from meeting with my counselor where I signed my Ucla TAP certification!!! I'm so excited, but still dread getting denied because some required major classes weren't offered at my jr. college.

Sometimes I wish my family was rich enough to not have to worry about needing and getting financial aid. But then again, receiving free money is a whole lot better than shelling out your own money. :) I like using my hard-earned money for useless things!

3.3, round up lol! well it'll probably be looked at as a 3.29 since they have so many applicants but if they do round it'll probably be up since your already close to a 3.3 anyways...
