UC Decision part dos!!

They don't take any of your pre-transfer grades into account for your GPA at a UC. Your GPA resets when you transfer.

This is why UCLA is the best. It's nothing unappropriate, so don't ban me MOD.

I still want to go to Berkeley though.

Lackofsense,

I saw that :)

Berkeley always tries to top everyone. They have a undie run... without the undies!

uh...first rain at ucsc, anyone?

duogmeg! another (possible) cal music transfer! high five! :)

feuerwerke: high five awesome! what's your instrument/concentration?

7 years of piano, but i'm not really into performing, so i was hoping to do the whole music major w/arts management concentration (basically means taking a few classes at haas). cal really isn't known for their music program, but i like berkeley and the bay area (using 'like' as in 'i like to breathe')

duogmeg and feuerwerke-you guys are music majors? i was a music major for a long time but i couldn't commit to the ensembles/applied music program at my CCC because of schedules for work, etc. i miss it ;o( (btw i was a vocal music theatre/jazz vocal performance major before i changed)

I really want to know my decision for UCSB! I wonder if they are going to release decisions on Monday and Tuesday, like they did last week. I can wait one more day :)

for those who are bored, you can check out my blog @ http://ahlproductions.blogspot.com since I can't post pictures here.

I have a picture of LA for those LA fans!

Enjoy.

& bookmark it for more photos!

dbguy4eva,

That picture of LA rocks!

Thanks =)

There will be more to come! well hopefully lots more if i get into UCLA!

dbguy4eva: Those are some nice pictures. Good Job!

wow i havent posted in like 5 days

ahahaha... yeah Cal's not really a music school, especially for performance (which is my area); it's the area that attracts me. But I want to do a double major in either Linguistics, English or a foreign language so a UC's more of a fit for me than a conservatory.

ksbr27: I'm a singer too! Classical is primarily my style, but I'm hoping to get into musical theatre and start auditioning for stuff. That's such a shame that you had to give up the music major... :(

... 38 days until Cal decisions come out...

thanks guys, support my blog! i need to have some traffic!

@ksbr27: well, i can't do (meaning i don't realllllly prefer doing) group music stuff (choir, band, etc). but of course, i love music, so i figured a career in the music industry would let me do both (be around music/musicians AND actually be in a professional setting like a recording studio).

@duogmeg: yes, berkeley's location is perfect, for me at least. it's not actually IN s.f. but close enough to still be funweirdcrazy. :) i visit whenever i can.

@dbguy4eva: nice blog!!

dbguy, if you gear your blog (at least for this period) toward UC decisions, I will visit it more often!

thanks guys. i'm pretty good with updating my blog, you can see my date blogs. i'm always on it. with new pics and such. i still have more pictures saved up for later updates! thanks for the comments guys!

and hope you guys will visit it even after decisions!

duogmeg-i wish i could do classical, but my voice is just not built for it. i think it was kind of a blessing in disguise that i had to give it up because if i get into USC (i know, just pitchfork me for saying the name on a UC thread), i can apply my music credits towards their MT minor, so they will still apply somewhere and i will almost be DONE with the minor minus three MT classes and private voice. i wish USC had an MT major instead of either theatre/acting or jazz vocal in thornton, and i didn't really care for UCLA's MT major or their options in school of music, but i was going to apply to berkeley on a whim anyway for music as well. i think it just all worked out for the best. i pretty much applied to berkeley to see if i would even get in, and if i do i'm going to laugh for three days straight, especially since i know i didn't do TAG/TAP and i know people with way higher GPAs that are trying for my major (french).

feuerwerke-MI is an awesome idea, plus you can get a backdoor into performance i.e. studio musician jobs and stuff. i think if i had to do over college again i don't think i would just straight up give up music major, just find another option like MI or even a generic music program. since i want to stay in LA my options are limited though to USC/UCLA, and i was planning on applying to Oxy as a third choice but their music program is more academic than performance, plus my new major over there is quite limited and their admissions criteria is RIDIC.

so after THAT long winded comment...has anyone heard from UCSB today? i know it's that whole resurrection of bunnies holiday but i'd just like to know SOMETHING.
