<p>Not necessarily, admission decisions are made independently.</p>
<p>san diego was my first choice and ucla and berkeley were stretch schools (although ucla would be my actual preference all things being equal). it was pretty deflating to be rejected by san diego…especially as i’m doing a habitat for humanity project in san diego now with my high school class. all i want to do is leave the city</p>
<p>but it concerned me because the acceptance rate for both ucla and berkeley are half what the other uc’s are with san diego more selective than the 3 i got into. i felt for sure i’d get into san diego, so i was just wondering whether criteria differed in the decision making process from school to school…and whether there was still a chance (however slight) to get into the other two. (i didn’t apply to either riverside or irvine)</p>
