Hello everyone, thought I should start a thread for us Economics majors out there transferring this fall. I’m curious as to everyone’s GPA, schools they applied to/were accepted to, and just general discussion/questions about Econ at UC’s.
To start, I applied to UCI, SD, UCLA, and UCB with a 4.0 and got accepted to UCI so far.
Prereqs: Calc 2 IP. Oddly enough, I completed Calc 3, diff E., and linear algebra previously, but didn’t score high enough on the AP exam to replace calc 2. I wasn’t going to apply to UCLA/UCB, but decided to do so with the extension of the deadline.
I’m coming from a CSU (San Francisco State) as a junior transfer!
Applied to: UCLA, UCSD, Davis, Irvine, UCSC, UCSB, and Riverside.
Accepted to: UCR
Overall GPA: 3.87
Prerequisites: Finished!
ECs: Didn’t do much while in college but listed high school EC’s along with a lot of work experience since that’s what I do with all my time… 20 hours work study student assistant and financial adviser for family business.
Im coming from a CC
Applied to: UCSB, UCSD, UCSC, UCD, CSULB, SJSU
Accepted to: CSULB, SJSU
Overall GPA: 3.32
Waiting on: All UC.
Prerequisites: Done.
IGETC: By end of Spring
ECs: Internship at Law office and some state office.
I have a 3.32 with the TAU but I updated again around the the 10th of Feb to input winter grade that bumped me up to 3.38. It was a prereq for only UCSB Econ and Acc major and my last Acc class. Don’t know if they will look at it or not but I have read that it is possible that a school might consider it if it is a major pre-req. Who knows.
Hi again!
GPA: 3.8, 3.7 after TAU
IGETC: Done by Spring
Prerequisite: Missing Calc 2+3 for UCSD and Calc 2 for UCSB
TAG: UC Davis - accepted
Accepted: UCSC
Waiting: UCD, UCSD, UCSB
Not much ECs but I’m a tutor for my CC. Hopeful for UCSD but UCD is my second choice. I do like econ but I’ve been taking some accounting and business classes. Kinda leaning towards marketing and econ with a side of acct lol.
