UC ELC Class of 2012

The University of California application came out 3 days ago, but did anyone notice that there's no ELC number section under the "other academic history" tab? Also, I have never received the letter telling me whether I'm qualified for ELC or not. Last of all,

Eligibility in the Local Context (ELC)

Read the last line: January: Students can log in to My UC Application about six weeks after they have submitted their UC admission application to check to see if they have been designated as ELC.

Uhh we find out if we're ELC six weeks after we submit the UC admission application?! I'm confused. Can anyone explain this to me? I keep hearing different things about how they're going to tell students about their ELC status this year, like they're going to do it online, or the schools will automatically designate you as ELC.

If your school participates in ELC, you should get a letter by mid-October telling you whether you are ELC. Not that it matters since the individual UC campuses will no longer guarantee acceptance to ELC students (only Merced will and that’s still iffy).

I’ve heard something like what AskMsSun said. Perhaps, we will be getting the letters soon cuz this is Oct already. I heard that they only offer you a spot in Riverside, Santa Cruz, and Merced. Maybe they have changed to only Merced now. idk
