UC ELC Program

I’m almost certain that I got rejected from all of the UC’s that I applied to. I’ve received rejection notifications from UCSD and UCSB, and I’m waiting on UCI, UCLA, and UCB. My question is about the ELC program. On my application it says that I am a candidate for the ELC program and it states that “If you’re in the top 9 percent of California high school graduates and aren’t admitted to any of the UC campuses you apply to, you’ll be offered a spot at another campus if space is available” (source: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/)

My question is how do they notify you? When do you get the notification? Am I crazy or does this actually happen where people get rejected from all the UC’s they applied to, ELC does its magic, and they get accepted to a UC?

You will get an email from UCM indicating that since you are ELC eligible that a spot is available if you want it. You don’t have the choice of UC only UCM.
