UC English Composition Credit

I just have a quick question. So, I passed the AP English Comp exam back in high school but just barely with a 3 and last semester I completed a critical thinking english course and received an A. I know most UC's will not accept 3's but my cc does. I'm finishing up IGETC now and was wondering if my 3 score would affect my chances of transferring. Should I just take the composition course instead of submitting my AP score? I haven't submitted my AP scores yet, just clearance from a counselor.

By the way, I'm a chem major with a 3.9 and I'm trying to get into UCLA.

A 3 should be fine iirc all the U.C’s will accept that score

[University of California - Counselors](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/adminfo/freshman/advising/credit/aptest.html)

You should always submit your AP scores because you could get credit for them, and you should have submitted them in your UC application regardless of pass or fail. I’m also pretty sure that your AP score will satisfy your UC ELWR requirement, and your composition class will cover the reading&comp 1 requirement.
