Do you think my essay lengths are too long?
Comes out to be 1093/1000.

I really can't cut it down any further without taking away the meaning in my essay. T____T Think that'll be ok? Or should I try harder??

ADVICE needed thnakssssss

that's way too much over the limit. Read the instruction. It said to be under 1000 words. Your essay might get cut off it it's over the limit.

thanx...any other advice?

is this the length of all three?, if so i think it should be ok

Yeah... 90 words is way over. You need to cut a good 35-50 words off.

With regards to the 1000 word limit, would the following loadout be ok:

267+225+508= 1000

The "200ish" essays are way over the limit and the "600ish" essay is way under. However, it still adheres to the 1000 word limit. Do you think this loadout would be acceptable?

yeah i have the same problem as spectrez is it ok?

The UCs discourage adding too much onto one essay and detracting from the others. You'll just have to work on your longer 200 and shorter 600.

I have the same question as well. Would it be bad to have essays with the following word counts:

650 + 175 + 175

Also, how do you know if your essay will be cut off or not? Can you put in how many ever words you want into each section as long as the sum total of all 3 is less than 1000?

You can't even save, let alone send, the application with a total word count over 1000 online. The online app doesn't prevent you from distributing it however you like, but if you exceed 1000 words total on the three topics, it'll give you a flaring red, bolded, italicized, underlined message saying something along the lines of "NO."

As for distribution, if you can get enough meat into your essays within a reasonable range of the recommended word counts, I wouldn't worry about it.

Can you use contractions in your essay to help lower the word count?

Schitz: That's not true, for the long essay, it will not let you put it in if it is over 630 words. So basically, you HAVE to have it 630 or less for you to click "next, personal statement #2".

However, I have heard that even though you can put your essays in and save them, when you submit, if the total is greater than 1100, it will not let you submit at all. Can anybody confirm??

Look guys, stop freaking out... here's what happened to my essay when I tried to submit the 1100 words total: it wouldn't let me! A warning error popped up.. however when I reduced it to 1050 or so, it perfectly fine.

Everything is on my receipt. My essay was not cut off or anything. If the computer thinks it's over the limit, it will have a "!" sign for you to go back and reduce the words! Other than that, I think you can have slightly over 1000.

The 600 word essay is meant to convey your true writing style. If anything make your 600 word essay should be longer and the 200's less. Its very hard to determine your personality and writing style with under 600 words.

ok wut does everybody think about this: 629, 205, 223

think that'll be alright??

Will you be able to submit it if it exceeds the limit by that much?

I'm happy that I finally got mine to 999 words, but I'm not sure about the distribution: 201, 223, 575. On the website it says it's okay to dip below or go above the word count, and then cited 205 or 199 as acceptable.... So 223 is not exactly 205! Boy, are they are real sticklers.... But I'm not worried about the word count much anyway...

i think i should be able to. I heard that as long as it's a total of less than 1100, you can submit it. Can anybody confirm?

Officially, there is a 630 limit for the longer essay. CHE CAZZO!

what if you have: 208, 198, and 500's(I haven't finished yet)

That would be fine, but try to expand your 500 ish though, because that essay reflects the most on your style. Good Luck.
