I got into UCSD out of state and I am considering going there. I really wanted to go to UCLA or UCB. I am trying to get an idea if it is worth it to go there out of state for biology/premed. I am also appealing and trying to get an idea of what kind of people get in out of state. So where did you get in, your stats, and if your going.

UCSD
2200, 3.7/4.3, good ECs and showed interest in UCs in my essays
might attend

This isn't what you asked, but I feel compelled to make a comment on UCSD. I live close to campus and work with the School of Medicine. Fabulous pre-med, sciences college. Really weak for the "campus experience." Google it. You may or may not care, but you should know. (Not so much the same at Cal or UCLA from what I've seen.) An example: UCSD=University of California of the Socially DEAD - University of California-San Diego - Epinions.com

Actually, I've heard that UCSD is the UC's unofficial party school besides Santa Barbara.

The admission rate for OOS people is less, so they most likely have higher test scores and/or GPAs.

I'm going to UC Berkeley (waitlists: Stanford and Brown). I was also accepted to UCSD, but I am declining their offer.

ACT: 27 (=1830), 4.0/4.5, good ECs, including Boys State, and essays were ok, but they weren't up to par.

My cousin attends UCSD and its medical program is good.

thanks for your comments. it seems like you guys recommend it from an academic point of view (oos premed). i guess the social life sucks but ill deal =)
