UC GPA and semester limit after transfer

Just to make sure (I'm paranoid, as I'm sure a lot of you are haha):

The GPA that counts when applying to a UC (UCB specifically) is your UC transferable GPA, not your CC cumulative GPA correct? So for instance, remedial math or English or some random non-transferable study skills class WOULDN'T count in your GPA when applying right?

And 2. At UCB isn't there a four semester limit after you transfer (not including summers)? Or am I wrong about that one (I hope so haha)?

Thank you so much for your time!!

P.S. Oh also, I want to apply for the cognitive sci major in the college of L&S. If I don't finish Calc 1 or Discrete Mathematics (two pre-reqs for the major) before I apply to transfer, will that significantly affect my chances for admittance?

Correct

Yes, there is a 4-semester limit for most majors in L&S. I heard you can petition, but I don’t know either… Would be great if anyone has been successful in petition for an extra semester in L&S reply in this thread lol.
But bottomline is, if you miss only a couple of courses, you can take it during the summer or Cal Extension and it will still count, that’s what I know

P.S. Yes, since Calc1 and Discrete Math (Math 55), not CS 70, are found at most community colleges, so if you cannot take those then your chance would be lessen, I think.
Hope that helps. I’m shooting for L&S’s CompS as well xD

Thanks for the reply!

What is a cal extension?

[Cal extension](<a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You) lol
