UC GPA for non-California applicants

Okay so the UC applications say all that stuff about a-g approved courses and how they recalculate your GPA for taking honors/AP/IB classes.

My question is, how do they do this for applicants who aren't from California and don't fit the system they set up? And is there any way for an out of state applicant to calculate their UC GPA?

You pretty much do the same thing as in-state applicants. A-g courses are just math, science, history, English, foreign language, performing/visual art, and basically all other classes but gym/physical education. Then instead of adding a point for honors classes, you can only add points for AP, IB, or college courses. Non-California Honors don’t count; they’re considered in review of your transcript, but they don’t go into the UC GPA. Here’s a calculator: [CaliforniaColleges.edu - Calculating Your GPA](http://www.californiacolleges.edu/admissions/california-state-university-csu/gpa_calculator.asp)

Ok thanks a lot, what is considered a “good” UC gpa?

For out-of-state applicants, the minimum UC GPA to be considered for acceptance is 3.4. At least to my understanding, a “good” weighted UC GPA would be above 4.0 for out of state, because our honors classes don’t count.

Ok so im from michigan and my uc gpa is around a 4.04, so that looks pretty good?
