Hi! okay, im confused with this whole UC GPA thing, because i’m hearing different things. i thought that for your UC GPA, they only count 10-11 grade a-g classes. however, i’ve also read that you can even include classes you took at a community college. at the UCLA website, for the stats for their undergraduate admissions, it says, “This GPA includes an extra grade point for all UC-approved honors courses (which include AP, IB, school-based honors, and transferable college courses)…” so college courses can be part of your UC GPA? i would appreciate some answers!

yah, if you took the college class during your 10th grade summer (summer after freshman year) or 11th grade summer (summer after 10th grade year) than it counts towards your GPA.

does this mean that college classes taken during your 12th grade summer (summer after junior year) will not count towards your uc gpa?

eh, my bad. those count too. yes 12 grade summer (summer after 11th grade) counts toward UC GPA

btw, classes taken in your 12th grade summer (summer after 11th grade) is part of your 11th grade coursework... remember to put em under 11th in your application in order for those grades to be counted into you GPA

oh, okay! thanks for clearing that up for me! :)

Oh, thanks! I had the same question too :) Oh, and I took a class at a local CC that was only Cal State certified (didn't know it wasn't a UC cert. class)...should I put that on my application anyway?

yeh you should, almost any college level class meets the a-g requirement. from surfing to human sexuality...it's all good.

k cool, thanks for clearing that up
