Hi, which gpa does colleges (specifically UCs) consider the most important? On my transcript, it says overall GPA, Weighted GPA, and State GPA. Is there a way to calculate the gpa the colleges consider the most important?

Also, do colleges even see your senior grades before they decide to accept you? I heard they only consider your grades from the first semester of senior year and only look at your grades from second semester to make sure you didn't fail any classes. But I also heard that none of the senior grades even make it to colleges in time to be considered.

I’m not sure I can answer your first question, but I think that it depends on the school.

As for your second question, UCs will only see your grades up to Junior year before they decide to accept you while private colleges normally take your first semester senior grades into account. However, UC Berkeley and UCLA (too I think?) send out emails requesting additional information to some applicants. In these emails, they request that you give them your first semester senior year grades and take it into consideration during the admissions process.

In deciding whether to rescind you or not, UCs take into account both first and second semester senior year grades while private schools only take second semester into consideration (since they have already seen your first semester grades).
