so i keep hearing about how freshmen admitted into uc schools have gpa’s higher than 4, but it never says if that is the weighted score or unweighted score. Here in maryland, we don’t have A+'s or A-'s. we just get an A. So these are my grades. I’ve looked it up online but i can’t really find out how to calculate my gpa. Can anyone calculate it for me or tell me how to calculate it. Also we have quarter grades rather than semester grades and the stuff I put below are just final grades. I have no idea how to calculate my gpa. These projected grades are very accurate, judging by first quarter. Plz Help. Thanks

If you are an OOS applicant, the UC’s will use AP/IB or DE classes for the extra honors points toward your weighted UC GPA (capped at 8 semesters 10-11th grade). For in-state California applicants, there are UC approved Honors classes that can also be used. UC GPA calculation is based on the required a-g courses from 10-11th grade only. 9th and 12th grades are used to determine if you meet the a-g course requirements but are not used in the calculation. 12th grades will keep your provisional admission if accepted to a UC.
Here is a link for the UC GPA calculator and also a link to a-g course requirements. Most OOS applicants are not aware of the 2 semester Visual/Performing arts requirement, so make sure you have this fulfilled or your application will not reviewed.
Are your quarter grades on your transcript? You need to input all grades on your transcript that meet the requirements.

Average UC GPA for 6 of the 9 campuses is a 4.0+. Santa Cruz, Riverside and Merced at the exceptions. As an OOS applicant, you want to at the 4.0 or higher GPA since the UC’s are very GPA focused.
