I saw on the application it says "We will not regard you're freshmen year in calculation of you're GPA"

If I had really bad grades. (Many Many C's) Freshmen year, will they even care??

yes, and no. Frosh grades do not count in the UC gpa calculation, nor in elc calculation. BUT, it is only recently that the UCs asked for Frosh grades to be added to the application; in previous years, they wern't even shown. Thus, IMO, they do, indeed, look at them; otherwise, they wouldn't ask for Frosh grades on the app.

Ahh.. i see. But would it affect their admissions decision?

UC's are getting more competitive. i wouldnt be suprised if they start factoring in your freshman grades.

Nope, your freshman GPA will not affect your admissions decision.

speaking of UC GPA's i looked up UCLA on princetonreview and found this ...

Average High School GPA: 4.13

how is this possible? I thought 4.0 was the highest o_O

The weighted GPA in California can go as high as 4.50.
