can anyone tell me how to calculate my UC GPA?
thanks a bunch

You might try looking here: http://www.californiacolleges.edu/admissions/hs/requirements/uc/scholarship_requirement.asp

They define the a-g courses, explain what happens with honors/AP courses, and tell you how your grades will be recalculated. The "extra"s in the right column are helpful.

Actually, the preliminary gpa that the UC's use for the first admission cut includes only Grades 10 & 11. Also, be aware that the honors point only gets added in the calculaton for UC-approved honors courses and AP/IB courses. So, even though your HS may call a class "honors [fill in the blank]," if it is not approved by UC for the extra grade point, it don't count for the grade point, regardless of what your HS labels the course.

In general, honors classes that don't count for the extra grade point are almost every honors class taken as a Frosh or Soph, or shoulda been taken as a Frosh or Soph. For example. Honors Geometry does not count for the grade point even if you take it Junior year. But, an AP course or Pre-Calc/calc taken Sophomore year will count for the extra grade point.

Complete info by class for all Cal HS can be obtained on the doorways web site. Even thought this site has been up for several years, unfortunately, not all GCs have correct info, and schools sometimes have not updated their info.

Listed below is a link that UC setup for GCs -- all you ever wanted to know, and more:

Best of luck to you, nervous (but don't be).

thanks so much guys. =D
