I have a 4.19 UC GPA and I am OOS.

Is a 4.19 UC GPA bad for UC Berkley if im OOS?

What kind of SAT scores should I have in order to be a very competitive applicant?

Also, if I take the ACT with writing do I have to take Subject Tests? (sorry if that's a dumb question but I really have no idea with the UCs)

Thanks in advance :)

pretty sure you have to take SATIIs either way, and they should usually have relevance to the college youre interested in (esp engineering)

go to the berkeley website for more specific/better information ([University of California, Berkeley](http://berkeley.edu/))

oos is an abbreviation for an out-of-state student.

Thank you for the info.

I don’t see anything specifically regarding UC GPA in regards to Berkley. Does anyone have insight as to what is a rough median UC GPA for getting into Berkley?

The median is around 4.25. give or take .03’ish but it is definitely within 4.21-4.29.

is that for OOS? I’m at a 4.19 and OOS :(

Keep in mind the capped UC GPA as people interpret it on this board is only used for eligibility.

Fully uncapped is what is considered by competative UCs such as Berkeley when they actually evaluate your app.

How do you calculate uncapped UC GPA?

^It’s your normal weighted GPA. And I didn’t even know Berkeley did that, I thought they looked at the UC Weighted

Yeah, the “UC weighted” is quite meaningless except for the lower tier UCs. Essentially, as long as you have the minimum a-g courses, you shouldn’t even worry about cap; remember, that’s for eligibility only.
