UC guarantee admission

the UC's guarantee admission to the top 10% or something students in California.
If u're in the top whatever %, u're guaranteed admission to a UC.
If someone who meets that requirement applies only to Berkeley is he guaranteed admission?

nope. This year only five UC’s accepted ELC kids UCSB, UCD, UCSC, UCI, and UCR

so is elc what the top 10 percent thing is?

The UC schools guarantee a place to both those that are eligible in the local context, and also all of those that are UC eligible. However you don’t get your choice of campus! In practice the past few years the UC-eligible guarantee has meant you get offered a spot at Merced or Riverside.

This year it was the top 4% but i think it may change next year to the top 9%. I was in ELC and I got into UCSB no problem, so it doesn’t just apply to riverside and merced

so what happens if you apply to berkeley, ucsd, and ucla
will u get into one if you’re in elc or is it possible to not get into any?

If you are ELC and apply to Berkeley, UCSD and UCLA, you might get into one, and you might not get into any. ELC guaranteed admission campuses vary from year to year. If you are ELC, you will get a letter, and it will tell you where you are guaranteed admission if you apply.

If you apply to those schools you are judged just as any other applicant. I believe UCLA said they do look at it but from my school while there are around 20-30 people in ELC only 3 got in so I wouldn’t count on ELC being a factor for them
