UC "how do you plan to spend your earnings" question

Hi, I’m applying to Berkeley and UCLA. In the “Work Experience” section of the application, they ask “How have you used or will you use your earnings? (240 characters).”

I was wondering, what kind of answer do they want/expect here? Should I write a more literal, straightforward answer (like “I spend my earnings on books and clothes”), or a more creative, personal answer (“I bought tickets to see my most favorite artist of all time, Nicki Minaj, and in the future I want to invest in a luxurious mansion”)?

btw both of these are just examples (not great ones, admittedly) and they’re not my real answers lmao

They want to know how responsible you are with your money. I think you should mention the literal answer and not include the “Nicki Minaj” answer. My opinion though.
