I was admitted to UCSB and UCR, and I decided to go to UCSB, because it's pretty far away from my house, and I want to get the college atmosphere and lifestyle.

However, my mom only wishes that I had gone to UCLA, Cal, or USC. I wasn't rejected from those schools, either. The thing is... I didn't apply! Yes, a friend told me that I probably wouldn't get in with my stats -- so I decided not to apply. I really should have, and I missed my chance to get into one of those three schools as a freshman. I am now rethinking what I will do with my college career.

It doesn't really matter to me where I go to college. Because of this, I should use the opportunity to do what I can for my mom, and go to a campus where she has peace of mind (she keeps bugging me about SB being a party school). In fact, I'd be fine if I graduated from SB; I've already taken a liking to the school. But I will do this because I can, and this time, I'm not going to let someone else tell me that I can't. I wanna transfer to UCLA/USC/Cal.

I'm beginning fresh. No nasty high school transcript. Just a clean slate, and I'm starting all of this at UCSB. What should I do to help me secure a spot at one of the aforementioned universities? If you want, you can tell me reasons why I should stay at UCSB, I'd like to hear what everyone has to say. But the point of this topic is to help me gather information on what I need to do so that I CAN transfer. Thanks!
