UC Intercampus Visitor Program !

I heard about this for the first time during my orientation at UC Davis.
Basically
"If you are a UC undergraduate in good standing, you may attend another University campus for a quarter or a semester if space is available. This way you can take courses that aren't available at your home campus or explore another campus if you are considering transferring."

UC Berkeley website has the best explanation for it so I will link it here.
Intercampus Visitor Program

It sounds freaking awesome right ? It is especially perfect for those (ME! )who cannot afford to study abroad but want a change of scenery
Has anyone done this program before ? Share your experience. Anyone plan doing it ?

Whoaaa! I’ve never even heard of this! It would be a cool opportunity!

Thanks for the info!

I’ve actually been planning on doing this for a while. I may take spring 2011 at Davis or UCLA. I get bored quickly lol. Now, if I absolutely adore Berkeley, I probably won’t do the inter-campus option. However, I love the idea, and I will definitely keep considering it.

Omg… awesome. I so want to do this.

Sweeet. Do they have this for ucla students wanting to take a semester at ucsd?

It’s open for all students in any UC campus.

Each UC has a special guideline and the classes that you can take. So check the UC website :)

u got to be kidding me. One reason why I decided to go to community college was to apply to different UCs that I didnt apply to my seniro year. If I knew this program existed I would of went to my UC and took a semester somewhere else

^^^
I was so shocked when I learn about the program. It is actually not presented anywhere…but while the Dean answered a student’s question, he vaguely mentioned it and I was like WHAT???
I believe UCs don’t want everyone to know it until you are at the school (by then you would love your UC already and don’t want a semester away). If not, TOO many people would take advantage of it and the program would get out of control i guess.

they let transfers do this?

Relax, a quarter or semester isn’t much.

Also , make sure the course is equivalent , lol. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are taking a major/subject that requires many series (ABC , etc). There are some people on this site that tried to do an intercampus transfer but had pre-req issues since the courses did not transfer exactly as planned.

Plan it out carefully!

It’s a program for any UC student. But he/she must have stayed at his/her “home UC” for at least a year.

@unknownpleasures
It’s not like intercampus transfer of course or like I get out of my UC or something like that. But it would be a great experience trying a quarter at another environment  It’s like “study abroad” right in the UC system. lol

Has anyone tried to appeal the yearlong requirement for this?

i doubt any of us will actually do this, but sounds fun

I would actually love to do this if I can! A year seems a bit long though to have to wait
