Uc Irvine ADMITTED Fall 2015 Transfer Students

Hey guys!! Congrats on everyone who has been accepted to UCi!!. I’m so excited to be admitted and I am looking forward to meeting all of you this upcoming Fall!! I wanted to start this thread to discuss anything about the transfer process including housing options, transfer programs, orientation, courses, extracurriculars, study abroad, etc. I wanted to start this thread so we can ask questions and share info with each other and make the transfer process and our time at Uci the best that we can!! GO ANTEATERS!!!

Congrats to everyine admitted! Right now I’m stuck deciding between the two transfer dorms available to me. I see mixed reviews for both.

I put vista del campo Norte as my number one! It looks awesome

Oh has anyone received an actual packet in the mail yet with the acceptance letter?

No, do they send one out @ahccrunner ?

Is anyone going to go to Discover UCI? I wonder if it’s worth it since I live about an hour away without traffic.

Hey guys! I haven’t received anything in the mail yet, I believe it takes a while to process. Has anyone heard anything from financial aid yet? I really hope they release it in early May like they claim…

@ahccrunner I put vista del campo Norte as my first choice too!! Possible future roomies? :-bd

Is there a mandatory orientation at UCI? There was for my last school but I never received any information.

@hrwarg I thought that already passed?

@Doisys I don’t believe that it is mandatory. But it is mandatory to meet with an academic advisor over the summer

@ucimpatient no, that was Celebrate UCI. Discover is for transfers on May 8th. I received an email from them earlier about registering for it.

Are we only able to apply for housing after we submit our SIR?

@woahwhat yea I am pretty sure you have to SIR first and pay the fee

.

@hrwarg oh thanks for clearing that up, I didn’t receive an email

I’m conditionally admitted. Seeing that made me feel like a high school student with senioritis. Need a B in my Calc 2 class which I have a C in. Need 93% on my next two tests. Studying every waking minute except this one. wish me luck

@pphoenix you got this!!! :-bd

For housing, does UCI automatically give us roommates or do we have to go find them ourselves?

@pphoenix Same here. Might not be able to get the “B” I need in electricity & magnetism. Anyone know how strict is UCI with their provisional agreements?
