@Nurse2017 fine i will
Look, @beloved18 both school have great, reputable business programs. Most definitely. However my concern is that you may not be able to handle a lot of the work. PM me and i will be happy to suggest academic fit schools i extend my knowledge and guidance to anyone of you on CC
May i suggest a gap year?
@seniorladd: How can you give advice when you do not even know which UCās have business schools, which Cal States have impacted majors and if having only a none to few ECās is an automatic UC rejection???
All questions asked by you in these threadsā¦
Plus you claim to have excellent stats but have not heard from any of the CSUās???
@Gumbymom I only needed CLARIFICATION on certain aspects since of course, i am a high school senior at a very prestigious private school.
As for csu acceptances, as i said before, schools are bombarded with useless student applications from people who do not meet the criteria. Iām 110% sure i will get accepted + full rides to any csu of my choice, but of course, the office of admissions has to clear out all the junk. I am expecting my acceptance letters very shortly. I am a competitive applicant, do you disagree?
My butt is a bit bigger than your ego
@whateverdudes i donāt have an āegoā, simply pride in all the hard work Iāve done. My parents have invested thosands of dollars in my education so itās natural I want to share my knowledge with the members of CC
@seniorladd: CSUās do not give āfull ridesā. CSUās give good need-based financial aid to low income qualified applicants, but little merit aid. Run the NPCās and see for yourself.
If your stats are correct, I would expect that you should have heard by now from SDSU and CSUF especially since the deadline for SDSUās Webers college for scholarship consideration has passed (January 15) and also CSUF Honors college application. You are out of luck there.
@Gumbymom my parents can pay thousands of dollars to get me into their honors college, i dont really need aid though it would have been nice. But my parents income exceeds 100k so i have all the resources to network and befriend the campus administration
Also i would be accepted with no problem into those colleges in a blink of an eye, however i am considering harvard and yale
I just want to let everyone who sees this thread know im available for advice. Im serious. I know what iām talking about. I say what others are too afraid to say. I chanced the OP. The answer is rejected. Whoās with me
Agree with @Gumbymom.
CSU=public state university. It is funded by the state of California which barely has money for its students.
Why would they give full rides to people whose
If you are not low income, you aint getting a dime.
Iāve seen students, with high stats, get into the popular CSUās within less than monthās time. Typically, in December.
@āaunt beaā youāre incredibly wrong
Nope, I donāt believe you @seniorladd. Why would I?
Iāve had too many of my HS students, with excellent stats, who have given me information; who are attending CSUās and UCās. (Iām including all three of my kids who got in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of December at CSUās for their safeties).
Where are your student confirmations @seniorladd? Oh thatās right, youāre still in high school.
FYI: not that you need to know, but the Student Aid Commission funds a number of California kids through Cal Grants. The CSUās and UCs donāt have that kind of cash.
@seniorlad perhaps you are a good candidate for Harvard but, you donāt know jack about CSUs admission policies. It is all about the a-g courses, CSU GPA, SAT/ACT and (for SDSU) local or not. Applicantās race, gender, the prestige of their high school, their ECs and how rich their parents are - arenāt considered in the least - not even sub consciously. . For most programs at SDSU, as a non-local applicant, you need an index of 4100 to be confident youāll get in. If you know someone with a 3.7 and 1200 SAT who didnāt get in - they didnāt have the a-g courses complete or applied to an ultra competitive major like nursing. It really is that cut and dried. I invite you to use your superior intellect to find the real truth at their web-site, or by calling or dropping by their admissions office.
The honors colleges at these schools have a separate application process - though some are āinvited to applyā based on their stats, you still have to apply by the deadline. Acceptance is not automatic and there is no opportunity to bribe your way in.
Also, there are some merit scholarships available at all the CSUs but, they too have a separate application process and deadline. If you donāt apply - you donāt get.
In short, somebody who gets a āfull rideā in the honors college busted their butt and jumped through a bunch of hoops. Nobody gets it served to them on a silver platter.
@seniorladd: Seriously, if you are Yale or Harvard material, why are you so concerned with not getting any decisons for the CSUās? Plus how many posters are going to take your advice over experienced CC posters such as @aunt bea, @NCalRent and @socalmom007. Who would want your advice when you belittle any posters that do not have your superior intellect and statsā¦ Get off CC and go enjoy your Senior year in HS, if you are even in HS??
@Gumbymom Thank you for your response to @seniorladd. I just read this thread in shock and grateful someone set him straight.
I hope no one goes to him with for advice.
Hello everyone, i thought Iād give an update and thank those who posted such encouraging comments! Unfortunately, i was rejected from San Diego Stateā¦but accepted into UCI and UCLA!! Its a small world
@beloved18: Congratulations and much success at which ever school you end up attending.
