UC Irvine and Santa Cruz

Hello, I'm going to be going into my Junior year of High School and would like to know my current chances of getting accepted into these two schools (I'm a California Resident) I'm white and male.

I currently have a 4.00 UC GPA (Weighted) Based only on my GPA Sophomore year first Semester, and I currently have a 3.83 (But have two borderline grades which if I push up will make my GPA 4.17 and I still have 2 months of the Semester left)

I like these schools because of locations (I think SC is beautiful, and I like Irvine and Orange County) and they are good solid schools academically. I would just like to know my current chances and advice, I don't have many EC's, I'm planning to get a job this summer and maybe continue with it into the school year part time, and I'm going to try to get community service hours at a local library, but I don't play any sports (I did play Water Polo but I had to quit because of injuries) and I'm not in a club (Though I plan to join NHS next year)

Anyways I'm taking these Classes this year and I'll put my Grade first Semester and my current grade this Semester

English 2 Honors
1st Semester Grade:88.6%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):93.9%

Spanish 2
1st Semester Grade:91%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):98%

AP European History
1st Semester Grade:91%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):92%

Chemistry
1st Semester Grade:91%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):99%

Pre Calculus Honors
1st Semester Grade:81%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):78%

Digital Photography
1st Semester Grade:97%
Current Grade (2nd Semester):89%

1st Semester GPA:4.00
Current 2nd Semester GPA:3.83

My Classes I have signed up next year and I'll even tell you what I have heard about them from older students and teachers

AP English Composition (A fairly easy class from what I have heard, more focused on writing than this years focus on literature which plays more to my strengths)

Spanish 3 (Depending on the teacher you get, one teacher is good at teaching but is said to be a total bit** and the other teacher is apparently nice but a very bad teacher at teaching you)

AP US History (Easier than AP Euro which I got an A in)

AP Chemistry (The first year my school is offering it, but my current Chemistry teacher is teaching it, and she is a fairly easy teacher and I understand her teaching well so I'm not worried, she also asked me to take this class before I even signed up because I'm really smart in regular Chemistry)

AP Calculus (AB) Will be with the same teacher I have for Honors Pre Calculus, he is a really hard teacher, but apparently AP Calculus is typically easier than his Honors Pre Calculus class, and while not very many people will get an A in the first Semester, many people do 2nd Semester because you review pretty much the whole Semester for the AP Exam. He bumps your grade up a full letter grade if you get a 5 on the AP Exam (which over 80% of his students do) and will give you a passing grade if you get a 4 on the AP Exam if you have a D or an F (Only 1 or 2 of his students a year don't get at least a 4) I think I can manage a B in this class.

Weight Training:Graduation Requirement

Anyways as far as the SAT and ACT go, I would like to get a 2100 as a goal. I'm going to buy the Blue Book this Summer and take the practice tests in it and develop a strategy that works for me on the SAT that I plan to take in October 2014.

That having been said, what do you think my chances are of getting into these two schools and what advice would you give to get into these two schools? Thanks.

Great shot for these two and still have plenty of time to improve grades
