I really love the Irvine area (Disneyland is basically your backyard at that point!!!) but now that I’ve been accepted to UCSD, I’m not really sure what I want to do. HOPEFULLY I can get into NYU and secure enough FA though. Congrats everybody for getting into college, regardless if it was UCI or not!

I will have to choose between Davis and Irvine when the time comes. It will be a really hard decision because I live in sacramento and I have to decide whether I will want to stay close to home or go far off into socal.

@clof2016, don’t focus on your GPA alone. My older son got into UCLA last year with a 3.65. No APs. His SAT was 2200, many volunteer hours, one internship, three college classes over the summers, and two summer programs to which he earned a scholarship to attend. He only had two ECs but many hours and concrete results in both. He is also a strong writer and his essays were very good. He wrote them in the summer and then had his English teacher give him input and we gave him input. He spent a lot of time on those essays because he had to justify the low GPA.

If your overall resume is good, you have a good chance.

General Comments: I’m so happy, I thought I wouldn’t get accepted to UCI after receiving a waitlist letter from UCSD!

I think they’ll release new decisions today at around the same time they released new decisions yesterday…

Yesterdays decisions were rolled out close to 5pm PST and continued to be released on a rolling basis for at least an hour.

I got an email really early this morning (4:30 am, PST) saying my decision was posted. Got accepted as a Chemical Engineering major!

I’ll guess I’ll post stats… I should probably be paying attention to my compsci teacher LOL
UC GPA: 3.93UW, 4.21 Cap, 4.29W (I think)
SAT: 770M, 720CR, 670W (one sitting, 2160)
ACT: 34
Average ECs, Jobs, Essays, Leadership; 8 APs (5 this year, most are STEM related)
I am in-state with ELC
No major awards unless AP Scholar and NM Commended count
Also accepted to: UCSD, UCSB, UCD, UIUC, UMich, UMN, UT (Austin), CalPoly SLO and other schools not worth mentioning, all for first-choice major
Haven’t been rejected or waitlisted yet!!!
