@sweetpotatoes31, you are making cry. I think that what you have written on this thread should be part of your appeal letter. It is very compelling and a legitimate reason for not having the same stats as other students. I’m rooting for you.

@sweetpotatoes31 congratulations on ALL of your acceptances, you may feel that they are nothing special but what I see is a student with a realistic mindset and goals for the future that applied to a few schools for safety because it is never bad to have backup, and applied to UCs because you know you are capable of greatness. as for the school in the middle of nowhere - i totally believe you! one my friends that graduated last year ended up going from jersey to ohio for a pharm program at a school there, and i often hear from her family that they tease her because theres nothing to do there and she’s in the middle of barren land.
And as for applying to ucla, it puts a smile on my face to see that you sporadically chose to apply, because you’re exactly right - if there’s at least a possibility, then there’s a chance, and a chance is a chance. Don’t be saddened because I’m SURE that your location or low income in no way made your application less valuable than that of a student of high income, and vice versa, a high income students application is in no way more valuable than yours. yes, we do have to try a little harder to find our way out, but i promise you, we WILL. whether its next year or in 10 years, you will.

No changes in my status… I assume that no decisions for OOS will released today. :-L
No changes in mine either, I’m in state. My chances of getting in and hope are getting slimmer as time passes.
Got in CS&Engineering yesterday. Got in UCSD undeclared, a bit disappointed. Waitlisted UCD. Not much hope for UCLA & CAL. Have to decide to stay in CA or go to Purdue or UIUC.
Congrats to all who got in any UCs. Considering the number of applications, we are lucky. For those who haven’t heard anything, hang in there and good luck.
