Why does UCI send decisions in batches? Is there some added benefit to doing rolling versus telling everyone at the same time?

Really, the only reason I can think of is to stop their servers from crashing. I don’t think their still reviewing any applications at this stage of the game.
But even my idea of stopping the servers from crashing doesn’t make much sense.At worst the servers will be down for a few hours? It’s still better than people waiting days after the release of the first batches. And I have never experienced a decision page going down. The worst it has ever gotten for me was when a decision page took a couple of minutes to load up.

The change in my Portal will be quite obvious. Instead of the classic “We have received your application” page there will be a huge banner at the top saying you got accepted. I have no idea what a rejected status looks like though.
when you get accepted, there is huge banner at the top saying “You have been admitted to UC Irvine!”
