A physical letter should arrive soon telling you whether it’s CHP or Regents! Also, on the right side of the portal, it should say "Congratulations"in italics and there should be a small box that says “Campuswide Honors” or both “Regents” and “Campuswide Honors”
@inn0v8r What about the HAIL interview? I haven’t heard anything about it
@mistnight8 Oh sorry was just a joke. I think a bit of your Michigan info made it into your post above.
Congrats!
Hi, UCI is my dream school and I’ve been anxiously waiting. I know that my stats aren’t very up to par like everyone else’s, but I was wondering if anyone would quickly chance me? My UC GPA is 4.07, school GPA is around 4.17. I’ve taken two APs, received an AA and BB in the courses, which were very rigorous, but sadly received a 2 on both (I sent them in because I feel like if I didn’t, its like hiding a 1). This year I’m taking AP biology, AP Calculus, and I’m planning to take the AP Psychology exam (but I forgot to put on my application that I plan on taking these). I’m from San Diego. Ive had 3 years of service club (525 hours), volunteered 4 years at a recycling center (around 400 hours), and I am part of three special interest clubs(averaging around 50 hours/year/club) and I’m secretary and part of the founding class for that club. My family income is less than 20,000 (I don’t think that plays a factor, does it?), and I’m a first generation URM. I feel like my essays were excellent at the time I wrote it, but the more I read back and look at it, I feel like it’s sadly generic (not sure if others also felt like this) I am also rank 24/700 at my school. I applied for Bio Sci and with PH as my alternative. If you took the time to read, this thanks!
If I were making the decision I would send you an acceptance. Go cheer on the Anteaters against Hawaii tonight at UCI to prove you got the Anteater spirit!!
Hi, I too received an email this morning confirming my admission into the School of Biological Sciences with my CHP status. But, I’m international. Anybody else outside the United States receive their decision?

Good luck to all and congrats to those who also earned CHP!
I got CHP and regents, but didn’t get anything at UCB, USC, or UCSB. I’m curious why since it sounds like some people here only got CHP and got into Berkeley, but I guess I’ll never know.

Have any nursing students heard back?
Has anyone been accepted to the school of business yet?
Hello. For anyone who is curious to know how many people get invited into CHP.
"The majority of CHP students enter as incoming freshmen. The size of
the incoming freshman class ranges from 160-200 students. Incoming freshmen are
selected by the Honors Program Board in early winter quarter from the pool of applicants to
UCI. Students at this level are sought after by many colleges and are difficult to recruit.
Admission to the Campuswide Honors Program is a benefit that helps attract top students to
UC Irvine.
From the total pool of UC Irvine applicants, a sorting formula that includes SAT scores and
high school GPA is used to identify the top 7,000 applicants to UC Irvine. From this pool,
each member of the Honors Program Board receives a list of top applicants to their
particular school. In addition to these scores, the faculty on the Honors Program Board
have within the past 5 years added new data points, including the high school Academic
Performance Index (API Score) and the Admissions “read score.” Honors Program
Board members are also offered access to the electronic application.
Each Honors Program Board member is given a target number of students to select,
which is based on the relative size of the school’s student population in relation to the
university as a whole. In this way, selected students are distributed throughout the university
and are not concentrated in a single major or school. In addition to the schools, a
selection is made for Undecided/Undeclared students by the Dean of Undergraduate
Education. Students selected for the CHP and admitted to UC Irvine are then given
special attention by the CHP staff and the Office of Admissions, including CHP specific
letters, brochures, emails, and recruitment events. These recruiting efforts help bring
outstanding students to majors throughout the campus."

@c0ffe3 for a first post, that was especially helpful. I cross posted it in another discussion. I hope you don’t mind.

@c0ffe3 Wow. That means UCI Honors has only a 3% yield rate, while the university as a whole has around a 25% yield rate. That’s insane.
Do you guys know if you get removed from the CHP program if you switch majors? Also, does anyone know anyone that is part of CHP and what their experience is like?
@kgiesch …I applied to Nursing too and haven’t heard anything…crossing my fingers
@yinuos I don’t think that calculation is correct. There would only be a 3% yield if all 7000 of those students were invited to the CHP. From what I understand from the info posted, this is not the case. The 7000 are the top students but then they are handed over to program directors to further pare down. So There might be 800 of those 7000 who have applied to a specific program like physical science but the director has a target number he or she has to fill, so they only choose a handful of those students.
The key being a target number of students to select relative to the specific school’s size. The top students are chosen by numbers. The actual students invited are chosen more holistically.
So it is not the top 7000 who are invited. It is the top 7000 who are further scrutinized for acceptance into the CHP.
