I have a sneaky suspicion my daughter is going to get waitlist or denied. Here’s my logic. Her stats UW GPA 4.0 W GPA 4.6 ACT 32. 9 AP’s all 4/5 Major:Bio. Great extra stuff ( MUN, theatre, work, tutor, volunteering) , essays etc. Top 9%, top 5% for her school. I noticed that some Bio majors accepted with CHP Honors have stats lower than heres. I am also seeing those tonight that BIO majors also have lower stats. I haven’t seen one with equal or above. She has been accepted at UCSD and waitlisted at UCLA. I think there is some logic behind my thinking… it will be interesting to see what happens.

D accepted, not the first choice major though. SAT 1420, GPA 3.84 unweighted. She’s an international.
Does UCI do a campus tour day thing like UCLA Bruin day?

Yes, honest name lol. I thought I had explained my reasons. My understanding is that CHP/honors is based on stats ( GPA/SAT/ACT) within the major. So if there are BIO majors who have lowers stats that got CHP and if it is based on just stats it would mean she was not in the admitted pile. So far everyone here that got in for BIO all have stats lower and no one has higher than her. It is also a gut feeling I have. Time will tell…

They need better communication with their applicants. At this point, everyone is on the portal and that’s why it’s crashing or not even loading I’ve seen some people get notified through email about their portal being updated when they released early decisions in February, that would’ve been more efficient. Sigghhhh I just want to know if it’s a yes or no. I feel like they just threw my application away lol
