Don’t the Cal Polys require you to SIR by May 1st?
My friend knows someone in uci admission and said the reason they’re taking long is because they’re indecisive on some things because they want to make sure housing works out (don’t want to over accept). Apparently they’re waiting for already accepted people to sir so they get a head count.
@Chevronn Does your friend have an expected date for the admissions to release?
If that’s the issue they should have at least released a batch for people that tagged with UCI because they can’t really reject those who have a successful tag application.
@jzonnn i really i don’t think so…they have to have them out by May 1st by their own words. Maybe those were waitlisted people.

Second baccalaureate applicant here. Does anyone else’s My Admissions page say something along the lines of:
“We have received your Second Baccalaureate application,” or “Your Second Bacc. Online Application has been received”?
In other words, does anyone else’s admissions page have absolutely zero indication that their application is even under review?

Curious, if UC’s can see if another UC was SIR’d, then what’s stopping UCI from declining admissions to those who recently SIR’d to other UC’s, in order to give the spot to someone else? I mean, I just SIR’d to UCLA yesterday, so I’m wondering if UCI can see this, they shouldn’t accept me so they can give my spot away, right?
I want to see if they accepted me, but if they don’t I’m going to be wondering if this was the reason.
Hmmm, i’m not sure, I got a supplement for UCSB back in March and in the email it said that the information that I provide maybe shared with the other UC’s. Its possible that if they share that information, maybe they can see if someone has SIR’d to another university.
^I don’t believe they can. Even if they could, I don’t think they would bother going through and rejecting possibly thousands of people already admitted. After all, they expect a lot of people to decline, they don’t have spots to give to everybody admission is offered to. If they can however, I wish I had waited a week before SIRing to la.
@AnonymousOpposum I think everyone’s says that or “We have received your transfer application.” I remember people asking about it a couple of times. Unfortunately no UCSD-style housing message at UCI that we’ve found yet I don’t think
Man, everyone talking about TAG and IGETC, I’m an OOS student so I wonder if I’ll be rejected for not having what’s required. I honestly don’t even really now what is required! :-/ 1st gen college student and I’ve been pretty lost the whole way trying to figure everything out.
Regardless, I hope by some crazy fluke I get into 1 of the 4 UC’s I applied to! C’mon UCI!!! 8->
