UC IRVINE Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

@tmhacts Psychological science major here too! Best of luck to you! :relaxed:

Hopefully UCI is nice and lets us know sooner rather than later lol

@chun_lilli Hi! Hope this link helps

For UCI it says that in early April Transfer Honors and TAG should expect admission notifications, then mid-April all others

:frowning: im dying to get one of my decisions already!

For Honors to Honors, did you have to do something special to apply, or are you just invited to the Honors program based on completing an Honors program at your CC? If you had to do something, what was it? I’m specifically asking about non-TAG applicants.

@jesse’sgirl (sorry won’t let me at you properly :frowning: )

Hope this helps!

@tinymango , ok, yeah, that’s helpful. But do you know if this could’ve happened without my son (the applicant) knowing? He is in the honors program at his cc, has the right GPA, and has applied to UCI, but doesn’t recall doing anything specific for this. Do you know if it’s something the honors office at his CC would’ve just automatically done? (I suppose he could ask…but this might be easier for me. )

Hi!
For me at LBCC, I had to fill out a sheet with my honors director and honors adviser to apply for UCI honors to honors. I’m not sure if that is universal for every cc, so I would reach out to your honors director.

For my CC, our Honors program counselors sent it for us; however, we had to request for them to submit a specific form, I believe. I am not sure if that is done automatically at other CC’s, but for mine, we had to request it. Perhaps your son should contact his counselor to double-check. I hope this helps!

anyone heard back yet??

Just wanted to get some feedback for myself here.
Currently at CC applied to UCI for fall 2020 as a psychological science major. Currently holding a 3.5 GPA did not TAG. do any of you guys think this is high enough to be admitted? Been a little concerned the past few months and the anxious waiting this month is killing me. Thank you for any feedback

nope, not yet

@“jesse’sgirl” you received an email if you’re getting H2H consideration. my Honors counselor sent it along with my TAP certification for UCLA. it read as follows:

Dear throwingestaways,

Your UCI H2H Certification was received. We will reach out to you directly should we have any additional questions. Notification of your admission status will be posted in the UCI MyAdmission Portal in early Spring. You will get a notification via email to check your portal.

Please make sure to maintain at least a 3.7 GPA in transferable coursework and complete all transfer and major requirements in order to fulfill requirements for the H2H guarantee.

@justinladams Hi! I’m also a psychological science major! I’ve been nervous too… the suspense is crazy!

I thought you might find this link helpful. It shows last years data on admittance rate w/ GPA range from the UC website! All you have to do is select UCI, a year you want to review, and then search for the psychological science major :relaxed:

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

(also from what info you’ve provided, you fall into the admitted GPA range – 3.37 - 3.80  )

please post as soon as you guys notice the portal updates! I keep checking every 20 minutes ! nervous!

If they end up not releasing decisions today I think imma go insane!

I heard last year they screwed some of the people who tagged into some of the impacted majors… hope that isnt me

what?? what happened?

What other UC’s are you guys waiting to hear back from?
I also applied to UCLA, UCB, and UCSD.
Don’t expect to get accepted by any of them besides UCI since I tagged. Still wanted to try though

Idk, they just didn’t accept some people who tagged even though they fulfilled the tag requirements because there were too many applicants in some of the majors. Kinda messed up since it should be a guarantee

I’ve only heard back from Santa Cruz.
Still waiting on: Riverside, Irvine, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Davis, LA, Berkeley
