UC Irvine Fall 2021 Transfer Thread

ya pretty sure bc my counselor at my cc said that

Hi guys this may have already been mentioned in this thread. But I just want to let you know that I found out that rolling admission notifications start coming out April 9 for UC Irvine.

It is my son who applied as an economics major transferring from his community college. He chose not to do the TAG program.

hey yall i finally got a response from my counselor and she said it would be up to the dept at uci to decide whether the courses are equivalent, otherwise they’d make me take it during the summer, when i get accepted to the program. just wanted to put up an answer in case anyone was having the same question

YEAH :sob: my major doesnt participate in tag and it’s helllla impacted so ive been lowering my expectations but still dying to know so i can move on and stop overthinking if ever i get rejected LMAO

hahaha I feel you. What is your major?

Does UCI/UCs give priority to locals like CSUs do? I go to IVC so I was wondering if that would improve my chances…

Im doing nursing ! LOL it’s a long shot but I tried to complete as much as I could so who knows haha! What’s yours?

I was looking this up but they only mention “priority to California Community college students”. I’m not sure for UCI though

I’m bio! I applied with a slightly diff major to all the UC’s i applied to but something around that haha

I figured. Actually I heard the opposite even lol… my major is CS and I hear UCI looks down on CS students from IVC. So yeah, super reassuring to hear. Especially since my GPA isn’t anywhere near a 4.0 :joy::sob:

AH i heard CS is also an extremely impacted major but i’d assume since IVC is around the area of UCI, most of ur major prereqs are available in the school? But definitely I’ve been told CCC students are given priority !

AHH good luck! I only applied to UCI for nursing because UCLA is the other option and it’s so weird because they have extremely different major reqs and i havent finished UCLA’s so :sob: i applied to CSUs but I dont have much luck haha hoping UCI changes that trend haha !

Thank you, you too!! I’m sure everything will work out in the end!

i hate waiting LOL im gonna sue for emotional distress uci

how many people are in this thread?? I SMELL A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!

I am pretty sure only CSUs factor in local location for admissions. UCs only care about in-state/out-of-state.
