UC Irvine Fall 2022 Transfer Thread

Anyone know when tag decisions will be out? My guess is this week but I haven’t seen a confirmed date

I think they will most likely be available this Friday based on previous years :))

I’m pretty surprised by how dead this thread has been compared to last year’s

Lol. Well there are less transfer students this year compare to last year

So is it usually TAG first then the rest? I haven’t TAGed UCI and im worried because I did not complete a calc class just stats

Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.87
IGETC status: Going to finish this Spring.

Transferring with h2h. Does anyone know if it is a guaranteed acceptance?

UCI “mostly” allows junior level transfers. I have applied as a sophomore level transfer(I know some other people who’d the same). It’s not common to apply as a sophomore level transfer, but it is possible(I have already filled the application and all that lol)

The application won’t preclude you from applying even if you don’t meet minimum requirements. From UCI’s own transfer admissions page, “In order to be eligible for admission to our university, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of the spring term prior to the desired fall term admission […]”

And under their FAQ section,
“Does UCI accept transfers at the first-year or sophomore level?

  • In general, UCI admits transfer students at the junior level (junior = transfer students with a minimum of 60 UC transferable semester units).”

So unless there’s some rare or unique special circumstances, they don’t admit sophomore level transfers. You could transfer after one year in CC if you meet the junior level of credits, and then start at a UC and still spend 3 years there, but you would be applying as a Junior level transfer and not a sophomore.:slightly_smiling_face:

Does anyone know when decisions starting rolling out last year?

Thank you for sending this, and yes I am aware. The key point is “In general, UCI admits transfer students at Junior Level” meaning “mostly” juniors. I have already talked to UCI admissions and other alumni’s. The key point is that it is “possible to transfer as sophomore transfer”. I have already completed the application, and in my portal it says that I am a “Sophomore level transfer”. The application itself is little different from “Junior level transfers” because we can’t apply to certain UC’s. Even if I don’t get in this year, there won’t be a problem because I can apply next year. However, there are certain factors that I think may me an interesting applicant, but it is all about trying and see what happens. So, people had the opportunity to apply as a sophomore level transfer, but we just have to see how the decisions turn out. Wish you best of luck!

April 9th

Also, did not want to sound disrespectful or anything. You are definitely right on certain aspects, but there are always possibilities, and all we can do is to try them out. Either way, hope anyone who worked hard get in their desired colleges. It’s not easy to transfer, so acceptances from different colleges can be a good reward for our handwork

Is this an official date? Some sites say April 22nd and some say April 9th.

Usually H2H and tag decisions are out easier than regular decision. From last year’s transfer thread, H2H and tag decisions were out on April 9th.

Any from another UC applied for UCI transfer?

Gotcha. Thank you for clarifying that

I hope it’s out soon I’m dying out here
