UC Irvine Financial Aid.

On my aid it says what I received. But, it also says federal pell grant unconfirmed. What does that mean? Where do I "confirm" it? Also, how do you know if you received the blue & gold package?

yea im a little confused on that too -__-
whens it due

Yeah, both my Cal Grant and Federal Pell Grant say that and I have no idea how it will be “confirmed”

And I also wanna know if I got the Blue and Gold package. I’m just as confused as you.

Is it due tomorrow? I’ve been trying to submit or whatever but it says I haven’t finished the to-do-list even though I’ve done everything other then enroll in units.

When they say the thing that’s due tomorrow do they mean the FAFSA?

Something is due tomorrow? What is due? I’m confused!!! HELP!

<a href=“Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI”>Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI;

Scroll down to “Important Deadlines” until you see “Financial Aid”; you can see what’s due tomorrow.

It’s the FAFSA that is due!

"Your Cal Grant award will be confirmed once we receive confirmation from the California Student Aid Commission.

Your Federal Pell Grant award will be confirmed once we receive confirmation from the U.S. Department of Education."

Don’t sweat it, if you’ve “accepted” (or rejected) the rest of your loans/work study/etc. you’ve done what you can for now (for financial aid anyway).

It should tell you at the top of your aid award page; at least, that’s where it is for me.

Also, I don’t know how it is for transfers, but freshmen should’ve submitted their FAFSA a long time ago and have already received their aid for confirmation. The deadline tomorrow is to submit documents that were previously requested (and which vary by user; see your financial aid homepage after you log in).

Most of the to-do list can’t be completed until after July 1st.

Soo should I accept my financial aid now…or can I do it later???

“You may choose to accept or decline any awards or you may opt to come back at a later time and make your selection. While there is no set deadline to accept your awards, your aid will not be available until you do so. Please note, if you decline an award, it may not be available in the future.”

I’m thinking we could accept it later…but this is kind of vague ngl

I know it’s kinda dumb for me to ask but what happens when I accept my aid…like does that mean I have to start paying or am I just accepting the loans they’re offering or what???

For the blue & gold package: where exactly do you check that you received it? What if you have not received it? How do you receive it at this time?

HELP!

Unconfirmed means that they’re not sure they can give that exact amount. The reason is because the state budget gets decided in mid-May and then they’ll know, “okay, we DO have X amount to give you.” Check your aid award again after mid-May and it should tell you what you’ll really get (there is good chance it’s exactly what you were first told).

As to Blue and Gold, you should check either “My Aid Award” on the financial aid page or your Zotlink Billing account–either, probably both, should have it.

When you accept your aid award you’ll then be taken to another page which breaks down just what you want to accept. For example, you can accept gift aid, a particular grant, and the different loans they’ve offered you–you don’t accept all at once. If the loan amount is too large, you can also request a smaller loan amount at this time. Once you accept, your aid (including loans) will then be credited to your Zotlink Billing Account and pay for your fees and tuition. You DO NOT have to start paying the loans right away, but expect the bills for them to be coming right before/after you graduate. Depending on the loan, it may gain interest while you are in school. In order to find this out, when you accept a loan, there will be a link detailing all the terms and conditions of it. IT IS your choice and a wise decision to start paying off the loans while in school if you can because there is no gaurantee you will get a job after graduating and being able to pay them off.

Understand that the aid you accept will be credited to your account, but not all at once–it’s broken down into the 3 quarters for the year. For example, if your aid award total is 12,000 then 4,000 will be credited to your Zotlink Billing Account a couple weeks before each quarter. Any funds left over after paying tuition and fees will then be deposited into your own bank account (chase, wells fargo, etc) a week before class actually starts.

It is best to accept your aid award as early as possible to ensure you actually get the amount stated–the school can still change it.

Lastly, if you have a health insurance, be sure to fill out the USHIP Waiver–you won’t have to pay the 236 a quarter UCI’s then.

I have a question that is a bit of topic. A while back ago I went through my financial aid award and accepted the loans I wanted and so on. I filled out some papers for the loans and sent them in. Now with the change in fees I have a new aid award. Do I have to go back and accept everything I accepted before again. I would think so but I just want to make sure.
